- New Sam's Club to Open at Tanglewood Plaza
- Columbus, Ohio — Casto, one of the country's leading real estate organizations, today announced the opening of a new 135,287 square foot Sam's Wholesale Club (Sam's) at its Tanglewood Plaza development located on Rome-Hilliard Road in Hilliard, Ohio. Casto intends to develop up to an additional 300,000 square feet of retail adjacent to Sam's. Don M. Casto, III, partner of Casto, said, "The Rome-Hilliard Road area is quickly becoming one of the hot retail corridors on the west side of Columbus. The relocation of Sam's from our WestPointe Plaza center located on the same corridor has now allowed Wal-Mart to begin the expansion of its existing location at WestPointe Plaza to a Wal-Mart Supercenter." The Wal-Mart Supercenter expansion is expected to be completed by fall, 2004. Casto also announced several other developments on this growing retail corridor. A new 28,117 square foot Marshall's is expected to open in time for the holiday season at the 530,000 square foot WestPointe Plaza. Several new outparcel users, including Chipotle and Firestone, will join the already opened Tim Hortons, Gordon Food Service and Frisch's in front of the Tanglewood Plaza development. Casto, a fully integrated real estate organization since 1926, is a recognized leader in the ownership, management, acquisition and development of commercial shopping centers and multi-family residences, office buildings and corporate parks. Casto's growing portfolio currently includes over 19 million square feet of commercial property and nearly 7,000 residential units located primarily throughout the midwestern United States and southwest Florida.
