- Thurber Village Latest Addition to Growing Portfolio
- Columbus, Ohio — Casto, one of the country's leading owners, developers and operators of community and neighborhood shopping centers, announced that it has completed the purchase of Thurber Village shopping center, strategically located on Neil Avenue in Victorian Village, less than a mile north of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The 54,138 square foot retail shopping center was originally constructed in 1994. The center was purchased from Thurber Village Investors, LLC, Peter Coratola and Samuel R. Horner, a Columbus-based real estate company, on March 15, 2005. The center is currently 100% leased. According to partner Don M. Casto, III, "The purchase of Thurber Village is representative of Casto's interests in continuing to strengthen our Ohio portfolio. Anchored by Giant Eagle, we see this acquisition as a meaningful addition to our existing Columbus holdings." Casto, a fully integrated real estate organization since 1926, is a recognized leader in the ownership, management, acquisition and development of commercial shopping centers and multi-family residences, office buildings and corporate parks. Casto's growing portfolio currently includes over 19 million square feet of commercial property and nearly 7,000 residential units located primarily throughout the midwestern United States and southwestern Florida.
